Turkish Airlines, Implicated in Arms Trafficking to Nigeria, Asks for Security Checks in Egypt

nsnbc : Turkish Airlines noted that it would have to deploy a security team to inspect Sharm Al-Sheikh Airport in Egypt before resuming flights to the holiday resort in April. Ironically, a Turkish Airline official was caught red-handed in a clandestinely recorded phone call, that revealed the Airline’s and Turkish intelligence circles involvement in arms trafficking to the Boko Haram plagued Nigeria.
Turkey_MIT_THY_NIGERIA_SMUGGLING_WEAPONS_ADTurkish Airlines plans to resume flights to the Egyptian Red Sea resort Sharm Al-Sheikh in April but requests that a security team first would have to inspect security at Sharm Al-Sheikh Airport. Turkish Airlines was one of the many airlines that stopped operations to and from Sharm Al-Sheikh after the fatal crash of the Russian Kogalmavia Airlines (Metrojet) Airbus 321 on Flight KGL9268 in Egypt’s Sinai peninsula on October 31.
Russian investigators, the Russian Defense Ministry and other Russian authorities claimed that the airliner was downed by a bomb on board. The crash resulted in the death of all 224 passengers and crew on board the plane. Egyptian authorities have been reluctant to confirm whether the airliner was downed by a bomb. However, Egyptian President Abdel Fatah Al-Sisi, last month, stated that it was likely that the final result of the investigation would reach the same conclusion.
Many of the countries and carriers that suspended flights to Sharm Al-Sheik or Egypt have since resumed operations after Egypt significantly upgraded security at its airports. The tragedy has led to a dramatic drop in the occupancy rate of hotels in Sharm Al-Sheikh and a significant loss of revenue Egypt’s tourism industry in general.
But The Irony – Turkish Airlines Official and Erdogan Adviser Implicated in Arms Trafficking to Nigeria
Ironically, Turkey has since 2011 become one of the region’s main sponsors of terrorist organizations including the Syrian Al-Qaeda franchise Jabhat Al-Nusrah, the Libyan Al-Qaeda franchise the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group, as well as Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood linked militants. Not to mention that Syrian oil , stolen by the self-proclaimed Islamic State, is being smuggled via Turkey.
In 2014 a clandestinely recorded phone conversation revealed that a Turkish Airlines official and an adviser to the then Prime Minister, now President R. Tayyip Erdogan were implicated in using the flag carrier to transport weapons to insurgents in Nigeria. The recording was of a conversation (allegedly) between Mustafa Varank, the chief advisor to Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdoğan, and Turkish Airlines (THY) Executive Assistant Mehmet Karakaş. nsnbc has had the recording analyzed by a professional audio and voice recognition expert who noted that the recording appears to be genuine.
Karakaş was asking bluntly whether the weapons are “going to kill Muslims or Christians…,” and references were made to Turkish intelligence service MİT Chief Hakan Bey. (See video above). The leaked recording prompts the question whether or not Egyptian authorities should enforce special security checks of Turkish Airlines flights, passengers and cargo.

ENERGY SOURCES IN NIGERIA
Nigeria is the largest oil producer in Africa and has been a member of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) since 1971. In 2011, Nigeria produced about 2.53 million barrels per day (bbl/d) of total liquids, well below its oil production capacity of over 3 million bbl/d, due to production disruptions that have compromised portions of the country's oil for years.

Pakistan Gulen Turkish schools to close (21) Pak-Turk Schools

The Pakistani government is moving toward taking steps against the 21 Gülen schools that operate in the country through exploiting Pakistanis' positive opinions of Turkey

The Pakistani government is moving toward shutting down schools and colleges affiliated with the U.S.-based imam Fethullah Gülen's movement. He is among Turkey's most wanted suspects and Turkey is exerting effort to obtain an international arrest warrant for him since the movement attempted to overthrow the government by infiltrating the police, judiciary and other key state institutions. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has pushed the Pakistani government to join in efforts against the movement through the closure of Gülen schools in Pakistan. The Pak-Turk schools are widespread in the country.

There are 21 Gülen-affiliated schools facing closure from the government. There are hundreds of students enrolled in these schools as parents have the general perception that the schools are administered by the Turkish government, even though they are not. The schools were established back in 1995 and run under the auspices of the Pak Turk Foundation. Pak-Turk schools are among the most expensive private institutions in Pakistan, where the private school industry has become a cartel mafia, fleecing parents. Pak-Turk's administration claims they are playing a vital role in helping make relations between Turkey and Pakistan stronger and promoting the Turkish language. However, people in Pakistan are not aware of the Gülen Movement's actions to undermine Erdoğan's legitimate rule. Gülen schools and colleges are spreading the Gülenist agenda and preaching, which is an open contradiction to modern Turkish values and lifestyles.

Pakistan is a country that already has a conservative mindset as well as strong divisions between certain communities, making it all the more alarming that Gülen schools are promoting a culture of segregated society in the country. The schools have a strong concept of segregation between males and female students, and they even practice this in their private lives. According to Gülen school students, they are called on for a couple of days to stay at the school and are not allowed to go home in the combine study circle classes, which is actually an intensive indoctrination of the Gulenist ideology. During these classes, Gülen's preaching and lectures are delivered by the Turkish teachers. DVDs and cassettes containing speeches and lectures by Gülen are distributed among the students, and those students who listen more are awarded special prizes up to as much as 5,000 RS (TL 75, 212).

Exploiting the ideology of the Islamic brotherhood and Pakistani philanthropists, Pak-Turk school higher-ups enjoy dozens of acres of land throughout the country. In the federal capital of Islamabad, two major properties were given to the schools at very cheap rates, as proof of the generosity of the Pakistani government. In the name of Islamic brotherhood, the Pakistani government has facilitated Gülen schools in Pakistan. Gülen schools and colleges have been already banned and closed in Central Asian countries and in Azerbaijan. However in Pakistan, despite repeated attempts by Erdoğan, there has been no action taken by the current regime. Recently there were strong messages passed by the president to his Pakistani counterpart when he visited Istanbul. President Mamnoon Hussain met with Erdoğan on April 13 in Istanbul. High level sources told Daily Sabah that the president sent a strong message to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to watch the activities of Pak-Turk schools in Pakistan and to shut them down. Sources in Islamabad revealed that the government is trying to make a roadmap for the elimination of Pak-Turk schools from Pakistani private school sectors. Controversy in Pakistani private schools is already at a high with rising fees and security major concerns for the students and parents. However, the education system of the majority of private schools is not good, while Pak-Turk schools do not have qualified teachers. The current government has already launched a massive crackdown against private schools in Pakistan that have failed, because private schooling in Pakistan is big business, strongly backed by influential people. However, the government is trying to curb Gülen schools with a new strategy that would not harm the integrity of the government regarding education.

In 2014, Erdoğan asked the Pakistani government to take strong action against Pak-Turk schools, and at that time he expressed his views in a televised interview before his meeting with Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, the younger brother of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, and at that time the sole item on the agenda with Sharif was the activities of Gülen schools in Pakistan. The friendly relations between Erdoğan and Sharif could be distressing for the existence of Pak-Turk schools and colleges in the country.

When Daily Sabah contacted Pak-Turk's senior administration in Islamabad for comment about the Gülen schools issue in Pakistan, a staff member named Syeda Faiza called and asked for the query to be sent through email, which was sent immediately. However, the Gulen school administration has so far been reluctant to respond concerning the situation of Pak-Turk schools in Pakistan.

According to his Facebook profile, the boy had studied in Monash University in Malaysia as well as Northsouth University in Dhaka.
Nibras's Twitter account seems to have been inactive for a while with the last tweet around December 2014 saying: "Alhamdulillah. Happiness is being with your loved ones. And being with friends you missed."
In another 2014 tweet, aimed at an unknown individual, he says, "Appreciate everything in life. Thank you for being there for me all the time. Happy for you. Always been. Hope you get what you rightly deserve."

Turkish-Kazakh schools across Kazakhstan are being renamed amid a campaign by Turkey against the exiled Turkish Muslim cleric Fethullah Gulen.
The Turkish-Kazakh schools were co-founded by Gulen's Hizmet movement and his followers and have been functioning in Kazakhstan since early 1990s.
One of the other sponsors of the 33 Turkish-Kazakh schools in Kazakhstan, the KATEV Foundation, said on October 18 that the schools are to be renamed as "Bilim" (Education) Innovative Lyceums.
KATEV said the schools were being renamed to honor the 25th anniversary of Kazakhstan’s independence from the former Soviet Union, which will be celebrated on December 16.

Gulen, who is living in self-imposed exile in the United States, is accused by Ankara of ordering a July 15 attempted coup against Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan by a group of the cleric's followers within Turkey's military.
Gulen has repeatedly denied the accusation.
Washington has so-far refused calls by Erdogan to extradite Gulen from the United States, saying Turkey must provide solid evidence that he played a role in the coup in support of a formal extradition request.

"Gulen Inspired" Schools in Ukraine to be scrutinized

Since the failed coup attempt in Turkey on July 15, the Turkish government has been calling on the Ukrainian authorities to investigate the legal and financial affairs of educational and cultural institutions in Ukraine that it says are linked to Fethullah Gülen, the man Turkey alleges was behind the coup plot.

As a spiritual leader of millions of people around the world, Gülen is accused by Turkey of undermining its secular democracy. Members of his movement have been accused by the Turkish government of attempting to infiltrate the government, police, and army in Turkey.

Last year the Turkish government declared the movement a terrorist organization, which it has dubbed FETÖ (a Turkish acronym for “Fethullah’s Terrorist Organization”), and Turkey’s leaders have claimed it poses a danger to international security.

Gülen’s movement is a broad ducational, cultural and business network spanning 140 countries. Although he himself doesn’t have any formal relation to any of the institutions, Turkey claims they are founded and run by Gülen’s loyal followers and members of his movement, known as “Hizmet” (Service) or “Cemaat” (Assembly).

Gülen links in Ukraine?

Although Gülen and his supporters seem to be an internal problem for Turkey, the aftermath of the failed coup have impacted countries around the world due to concerns that Turkish schools and cultural centers abroad might be tied to the Gülenist network.

In Ukraine, there are at least two institutions that have been claimed to be Gülen-linked: the Kyiv-based Meridian International School and the Isık (Syaivo) Ukrainian-Turkish Cultural Center. Other sources also mention the Black Sea High School in Odesa and the Simferopol International School in now-annexed Crimea.
